Notwithstanding Victoria Azarenka’s withdrawal from the Brisbane semi-final against Serena (which I find as true gamesmanship).  I mean really, why show your your hand in a semi-final.  The reigning wold number one had a bad pedicure and her toe hurt. I was a bit disappointed that Vika withdrew as I really wanted to see where her game is at the beginning of the season.  It’s hard to gauge unless she is playing one of the ballers , ie. Sharapova/Williams. I truly believe Vika can take it to Serena, but we will have to wait a couple of weeks.

What I love about Vika is simply this…GAMESMANSHIP! Make ’em wait!

Also, Sloane Stephens’ whining about Serena’s come on’s being disrespectful.  I mean really Sloane, I agree with your coach, why don’t you let loose a couple of come-on’s! I thought Sloane was a bit more concerned about her “friend” rubbing salt in the wound. Granted it was sea salt, I mean really, Sloane did you think Serena was playing her best tennis against you? Girl sit down.

And last, but by far least, who the hell made up this draw (Sharapova camp)?  With the exception of Kvitova in the bottom half of the draw, it was a straight shot to the semi’s for Sharapova. The WTA has “got to do better”!  Once Sharapova withdrew and Kvitova lost in the first round, the bottom half of the draw matches were for entertainment purposes only. There was no one left in the bottom half to challenge Azarenka, Williams, Stosur and/or  (going out on a limb) Wozniacki in the top half.  Therefore, we are left with another “final” that should have happened before the quarters.
